Friction lock: the tongue's shoulders ride over the dust flaps and hold by friction. Slit lock: two slits on the tuck crease make the tongue's corners catch, so the end has to be pressed to open.

Full overlap: the inner and outer flaps both reach across the end and are glued face to face. Reduced flaps: only the outer flap reaches across; the other three are cut short and it is glued down onto them.

Which panel the flap that comes down last hangs from, counted from the glue joint as the ECMA code counts. It decides which face shows the glue line, so it follows the print.

Which edge of the blank carries the manufacturer's joint. Right mirrors the whole blank - every panel, flap and lock - so the box folds the same way with the joint on the other side.

Production
